Few, but willing to work!

On Monday, January 7, at 10 a.m. the first training of the PGE VIVE Kielce team in 2019 started in Hala Legionów. Although the team was small, made of only five people, it was willing to work under the watchful eye of coach Talant Dujshebaev, who himself decided to use the training to burn calories after the Christmas break.

Training started with running. Four players, Michał Jurecki, Krzysztof Lijewski, Mateusz Jachlewski and Mariusz Jurkiewicz were bravely completing the subsequent laps around the court in Hala Legionów. It was hard, sweat was flowing, and yet from time to time one could hear conversations between the runners interrupted by rhythmic breathing. "Are you kidding me?", "No, really!" – you could hear some chats as this minimalist peleton passed, at the pace of professional long-distance runners, journalists observing the training.

Meanwhile, Marko Mamić, under the watchful eye of physiotherapist Tomasz Mgłosiek, worked on strengthening the ankle by performing many various exercises using rubber implements and a balancing platform.

Marko is healing according to plan – Tomasz Mgłosiek comments – If everything goes well, we will see him in full training in a month. Now, the most important thing for him is to adapt to the physical effort in order to get him back in shape as soon as possible.

That is great news! It can be added here that there is no trace of the injury to the groin of Michał Jurecki, which the captain of PGE VIVE suffered in November. Also the other players training today in Hala Legionów did not complain about any pain.

I train like usual, anyway, I have been training individually like usual for two or three weeks. I will see how my leg will work in the evening during the training with balls – Michał Jurecki says.

Everything is fine, nothing hurts after a break – Mateusz Jachlewski adds – During the holidays I lost three kilograms!

Our captain, who kept exactly the same weight as he had before Christmas, i.e. 112 kg, cannot boast of such an achievement, while the PGE VIVE trainer admits that he indulged himself during the break.

I have put on a little weight, so I also have to train to lose weight! – Talant Dujshebaev jokes. In fact, while his players were running around the pitch, the coach was dynamically riding on a stationary bike.

After running, the team moved to the gym, where each of the players performed exercises with the use of barbell and TRX. The players will spend the nearest future on this type of physical exercises preparing for the second part of the season 2018/2019.

We will run a lot and work in the gym, but tonight we will also start training with balls – coach Dujshebaev says – Although we do not have goalkeepers, as all three of them are at their national teams camps, we will come up with something, I hope one of the young boys will help us.

In the following weeks, the number of players present during trainings will be systematically growing.

Blaz Janc, Vlad Kulesh and Arciom Karalok will join us on Monday – the coach announces – Filip Ivić, Arek Moryto and Bartek Bis, who are still on their national team’s camp until January 13th will join us next Wednesday.

The other players, Vladimir Cupara, Luka Cindrić, Alex Dujshebaev, Daniel Dujshebaev, Julen Aginagalde and Angel Fernandez will arrive to Kielce depending on their national teams performance during the World Championships in Germany and Denmark. The Championships will be held on 10-27 January.
