Krzysztof Lijewski stays for a longer time in PGE VIVE Kielce!

We know the full line-up of the right back players of PGE VIVE Kielce in season 2019/20! Krzysztof Lijewski has joined the group of players who will be the team's staff after the summer holidays! The player’s contract was valid until the end of June, and as we already know officially, he will extend the contract with our club for another year.

Krzysztof Lijewski is one of the most distinguished players of our team. His achievements include, among others, the silver medal of the World Championships 2007 and bronze medals of these competitions in 2009 and 2015. In 2016 he won the Champions League with PGE VIVE Kielce and has also won six Polish Championships and Cups. He is currently playing his seventh season in Kielce and we already know that he will also stay for the eighth one.

I am glad that the president as well as coaches – Talant and Uros – all the time see me as a part of the team – Krzysztof Lijewski comments – It is very flattering, it is great to be part of such a good team, respected by everyone in Europe. I would like to thank President Bertus, the entire supervisory board and the coaching staff for their trust, and I will put every effort to repay with my good game and great performance of the team.

On the court, Lijek is a flagship personification of skillfulness. He is famous for his excellent vision of the field, sense of play and often impresses with a wide arsenal of original plays. In the next season he will form a trio with his junior colleagues Alex Dujshebaev and Branko Vujović.

It is going to be a great combination! When Branko comes, old Lijewski, young Vujović, experienced, but also young and very good Alex Dujshebaev will be available for this position – Lijek laughs – Talant will surely know how to divide the time on the court between all three players. In the past he had no problems with that, after all, there are a few players on the left back. Everyone gets their time on the court, so I think that also in this situation there will be no major problems.

Krzysztof Lijewski is another player who has recently decided to stay in Kielce for another year. Few days ago we informed you about the extension of Julen Aginagalde’s contract. In December, Alex Dujshebaev decided to stay in Kielce until 2022, and before that, Mateusz Jachlewski decided to extend his contract for one more season, until 2020.

I am very happy that another, such a distinguished player, decided to stay with us for the next year – president Bertus Servaas comments – Krzysztof is a very versatile back-court player, whose experience and skills will be a perfect complement to Alex and Branko on the right back.
