On Monday evening, October 28th, in the Hala Legionów, the first training of the PGE VIVE Kielce back together team will take place after the break for the national call-ups. Arkadiusz Moryto, Mateusz Kornecki, Alex Dujshebaev, Andreas Wolff, Blaž Janc, Arciom Karalok, Uladzislau Kulesh, Doruk Pehlivan and members of the training staff Sławomir Szmal and Uroš Zorman are back in the team from friendly tournaments and the World Cup 2021 elimination games.

POLAND

Arkadiusz Moryto, Mateusz Kornecki, Sławomir Szmal (assistant coach)

The white-and-reds took part in a friendly tournament in the Argentinean city of San Juan. The Poles did not do well – they drew the first match with the Spanish B national team 24:24 and lost two more matches, with Argentina slightly at 19:20 and heavily with Russia at 19:30. Although the results do not entirely indicate this, a very strong point of the Polish national team were the goalkeepers, Mateusz Kornecki and Adam Morawski. The PGE VIVE winger, Arkadiusz Moryto, was merciless when taking penalties, but while playing he was rather invisible. However, it has to be taken into account that he was the only nominal player on the right wing.

Throughout the tournament, the playing of the white-and-reds looked interesting at times, but by far the weakest link was the attack, where there is still much to improve in the perspective of the upcoming EHF EURO 2020. Adrian Kondratiuk (11 goals) was fifth in the classification of the tournament shooters.

SPAIN

Alex Dujshebaev

Of the four Spaniards from Kielce, only Alex Dujshebaev was appointed to the October team camp. His national team took part in the heavily manned Golden League friendly tournament in Arhus. In the semi-final Jordi Ribera's team defeated the Danes 31:27 and Alex scored 3 goals in this match. In the finals, the Spaniards succumbed to France only after penalties, after a 31:31 tie in regular time. After a series of seven-meter throws, they lost 34:36. Alex scored five goals, one in the penalty shootout.

SLOVENIA

Blaž Janc, Uroš Zorman (assistant coach)

Last week the Slovenian Handball Association (Rokometna Zveza Slovenije) celebrated its 70th anniversary. The Slovenians had a great handball feast, full of events, including a gala dinner, two sparring matches and a farewell to the virtuosos – the Rokometna Simfonia by Uroš Zorman and Luka Žvižej.

Rokoetna Simfonija was a great success – in the show match, which took place on 24 October in Celje, many world famous handball stars took part, among others Sergei Rutenka, Momir Ilić, Ivano Balić and Talant Dujshebaev, Blaž Janc and Julen Aginagalde. The meeting ended with a 38:38 draw, gathered over 4 thousand fans and was broadcast in Slovenian Sport Club 2.

A day later the Slovenian team, without Blaž Janc in the line-up, tied 29:29 in Ormož with the Netherlands and on Sunday 27 October defeated Serbia 30:24 in Maribor. The PGE VIVE winger scored 3 goals in this game, the most effective was the former Polish Champion’s player, Dean Bombac (5 hits).

????Čustva so me prevzela in rad se bom spominjal vsega tega. ???? HVALA @andee_pa_pika @tjasapa @anzeblazic HVALA @rkcpl HVALA @rzs_si ❤️ @katjamj ❤️

GERMANY

Andreas Wolff

Two very balanced matches with the Croatians were played by the German team. In the first one, in Zagreb, the Germans defeated the hosts 26:25. Our goalkeeper had an efficiency of 37% in the match and former PGE VIVE Kielce winger Tobias Reichmann was the best goalscorer (5/7). Igor Karacić was supposed to play in the meeting, but he was eliminated by an injury. In the revenge clash in Hanover, the Germans again won by one goal against the Croats, this time 24:23. Andreas Wolff defended in the first half, but during the match he was changed by Dario Quenstedt and it was he who became the hero of the meeting defending a penalty kick in the last seconds.

BELARUS

Arciom Karalok, Uladzislau Kulesh

Belarusian PGE VIVE players played very good friendly matches in Minsk against Lithuania. In the first one, Belarus defeated its rivals 45:25. Arciom Karalok scored 5 goals and Vlad Kulesh 6. The playmaker was chosen the best player of the match. In the second one Belarus triumphed again, defeating Lithuania 30:27. Three goals were scored by Uladzislau Kulesh, and six by Arciom Karalok, and this time it was the pivot who was selected the MVP.

@handball.by #handballbelarus

TURKEY

Doruk Pehlivan

The Turks hosted the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Championships with Belgium and Estonia (group 4 of the eliminations). The competition took place in Eskisehir and was the first stage on the long way to the championship. Doruk Pehlivan's team won the tournament, defeating Estonia 33:29 and Belgium 33:24. The PGE VIVE Kielce playmaker scored 11 goals in the first match. In the second match Doruk didn't have many opportunities to throw (3 goals), but he fought hard in the defense, which resulted in two two-minute bookings. In April 2020, Turkey's national team will take part in the next round of the eliminations of the World Cup 2021.
